Assessment
DPPC’s psychology assessment team provides psychological psychodiagnostic assessments.
Reasons you might seeking an assessment:
to better understand your symptoms and struggles.
to seek clarification of diagnosis.
to better understand your personality profile as it relates to your functioning or difficulties.
to assess the areas in which you need support and the types of treatment that could be helpful.
to evaluate whether you require specialized supports or accommodations
The assessment process involves completing an interview to obtain information about your presenting problems, the relevant history and background information. You will also be asked specific questions about your symptoms and asked to complete questionnaires to obtain more information to help form a clear understanding of your mental health condition. The number of sessions required for the assessment will depend on the complexity of your presenting concern. A psychiatric diagnosis will be made if appropriate and recommendations will be provided. At the end of the assessment, an assessment report can be generated and provided to you during a feedback session.
